The most important aspect of a bride-to-be is her wedding dress, but it will only look its best when complemented by the right jewelry. There are thousands of bridal jewelry sets to choose from that come in modern, vintage, or classic styles, making finding the right ones to wear at your wedding a rather difficult task. How exactly do you go about finding the jewelry that will help you get the look you want?

The trick to narrowing down your jewelry choices is to think about your wedding’s style and mood. Glamorous, nighttime weddings are just right for bold, glitzy wedding jewelry and accessories. Simple, romantic weddings call for classic jewelry styles or vintage jewelry pieces. A heart locket can help create a romantic and antique feel, and classic jewelry pieces like diamond stud earrings and strands of pearls create a timeless, elegant affair. For laid-back beach or outdoor weddings, keep the atmosphere light by wearing simple and bright jewelry, like a strand of pearls or a crown of flowers.

A pure white wedding dress will also look great with jewelry in primary colors. Wear a large blue sapphire pendant on a gold chain and matching earrings, or red rubies. As long as your dress is simple, you can get away with big, bold jewelry and colored gemstones.

Finally, keep the neckline of your dress in mind when selecting your necklace and earrings. A strand of glittering gemstones or pearls accents a v-neck, boat-neck, or scoop-neck dress perfectly. Wear chokers for strapless gowns; you don’t want to draw too much attention to your bosom. For a delicate, romantic ensemble, keep the look consistent by avoiding chunky jewelry pieces. A simple chain and pendant should do the trick.
