When people think of wedding jewelry, the first thing that probably comes to mind is a sparkling diamond ring. Although rings are certainly an important part of wedding jewelry, a bride also needs to consider the other pieces she’ll be wearing to enhance her wedding gown and make her beauty shine.

When it comes to rings, Cushion and Asscher cut diamonds can be found in the fashionable bride’s finger. These square-cut diamonds were very popular during the 1920’s and are created to reflect candlelight so your attention is drawn to the stone. These gems look best on two-toned bands. Pink and yellow diamonds are very popular today as well.

For bracelets, think thick silver and gold cuffs sprinkled with gemstones. Tiny beads or rhinestones also add daintiness to chunky bracelets set with semi-precious stone. Antique jewelry also looks great with todays wedding gowns; ask your mother or your grandmother if you could wear the family heirlooms for a sentimental, old-fashioned air.

Go bold with your jewelry choices and wear a pair of chandelier earrings to achieve a glamorous, art-deco look. Try them in diamond, pearls, or glass beads. Dramatic necklaces with dripping gemstones and demure necklines go great with the bigger is better theme too. Also consider cascading pendants that show two or more linked stones. Even classic chokers are going bold with up to six strands of pearls. If you don’t want to get too trendy, classic diamond studs, a strand of pearls, and bare wrists will always been in style. But if you want to add a modern flair to your look, remember that big is definitely beautiful.
