Braided Wedding Hairstyles for the Bohemian Bride

I’m a total sucker for braided wedding hairstyles and how it can look romantic, free-spirited, and unique all at the same time. Today, I’m rounding up my favorite braided updo hairstyles that would look fantastic on both bohemian brides, and brides who prefer a more traditional wedding day look. Braided wedding hair may be typically associated with hot summer nights and pretty spring afternoons, but I can totally see these looks working on matter what the season is.

During the Valentino’s spring 2012 runway show, the models came sashaying down the runway with these gorgeous French braids wrapped around their heads, which would look absolutely stunning on a bride. According to the hairstylist, he took large sections of hair at the crown of the head, divided them into three, and started the french braid in the middle moving counter-clockwise by the hairline. Print this out and show it to a professional hairstylist, as this is not a look amateurs can do.

I love the fuss-free nature of this loose side braid, and I especially love the small wildflower bunch pinned at the end of the braid.

Add a fun twist to your classic wedding updo by braiding your hair before pulling it into a neat bun. Add even more polish to the look by pinning on a crystal hair clip.

If you’ve got long bangs, you can also accentuate your updo with a side French braid that leads all the way back to the bun.
