Vintage Style Wedding Dresses
Yesterday, I mentioned that vintage dresses are going to be one of the major wedding trends to watch out for in 2009. To help you get started, I found some gorgeous vintage-inspired wedding dresses and accessories that might inspire you when you plan your wedding next year.
This beaded flapper dress by Jenny Packham is all over this month’s issue of Italian Vogue. The beads might be a little too glitzy for romantic, traditional brides but if the vintage look is what you really want, finish off the look with a tall feathered hat.
Johanna Hehir’s tea-length dress reminds me of a ballerina, and the birdcage veil and floral headdress is a lovely finishing touch. I wish there was a larger photo of this dress because it looks like there’s very intricate needlework on the skirt and bodice.
This floral vintage dress is my favorite in the bunch. Designed by Ronit Zilkha, who loves to incorporate antique detail into her dresses, this dress is a beautiful mix of the old and the new.
Caroline Parkes has been designing wedding gowns for thirty years and this cocktail-length dress is from her latest collection. The long sleeves are perfect for a fall or winter wedding.
Another favorite vintage wedding dress, this time by David Fielden. I love how the hat’s structure matches the bow, and there’s something so romantic and quaint about birdcage veils.
