We all know that this is your wedding and that the day should be centered around you. We also know that no matter how you plan the day down to the very last minute, you won’t be able to please everyone. Maybe your guests won’t be too happy with your taste in food, music, or decor. Although you do have to place your guests’ tastes into some consideration, they might also have some valid and reasonable complaints about your wedding that you should listen to so that everyone will walk away with pleasant memories of your wedding day.

We didn’t know anyone at the table. Make sure your seating arrangement is carefully planned so that guests are seated with other people they know. They don’t have to be close friends but at the very least acquaintances, former coworkers, or someone with a connection to them.

The receiving line took forever to move. Usually, the bride, groom, and their parents are the ones who should receive guests at the door. But if there are over 200 attending the reception, you should consider visiting individual tables instead.

The bride and groom didn’t bother saying hello. Visit every table at the reception but don’t spend any longer than ten or fifteen minutes at each. Quick greetings, thank you, and some small talk will be enough.

The centerpiece was too large and kept me from seeing and talking to the other guests around the table. The best arrangements for guest tables are small and short centerpieces. The centerpiece shouldn’t be the table’s main topic of conversation.

I never got thanked for my gift. Share your task with this husband and make a pact to finish a certain number of thank you notes every day until each guest has been thanked properly.
