Affordable Bridesmaids’ Dress Idea: Convertible Dress

Gone is the age when bridesmaids had to walk down the aisle in the same unflattering dress. Today, bridesmaids dresses are all about allowing your bridesmaids to express themselves in styles that they’re comfortable with. All they have to do is work around the wedding’s color scheme and formality, and they’ve got a lovely bridesmaids’ dress that they can wear again outside of your wedding!
If you don’t know what kind of dress styles to offer your bridesmaids, why not just get them convertible dresses? Convertible dresses are dresses that you can wear in a variety of styles, allowing you to have as many as five different looks – while wearing the same dress! Convertible dresses make great bridesmaids dresses for two reasons: one, there’s sure to be a style that will flatter your bridesmaids’ body types – plus sizes included! Two, your bridesmaids will appreciate having a dress that they can wear over and over again and style with all sorts of crazy accessories.
I’ve already blogged about Twobirds’ one-size-fits-all bridesmaids dress before but theirs are a little pricey: $270 for a calf-length dress and $290 for a floor-length dress. A more affordable alternative would be Victoria’s Secret, where convertible dresses go for about $108. Their dresses come in eight colors and can be worn in all sorts of styles, including halter, strapless, asymmetrical, back-braided, tie-waist, even as a skirt!
So save yourself the trouble of finding dress styles that will appeal to your bridesmaids, and consider getting them convertible dresses instead.
