Fall 2012 Wedding Dress Trends
Now that I’ve seen a couple of bridal shows for fall 2012, I’ve got a pretty good idea what wedding dress trends to look out for and which ones are my favorite. Here they are, in no particular order:

The high-low hemline is still a big trend this season, and it’s easy to see why. This cut is the perfect compromise between long and short, sexy and sweet. Also, they’re perfect for showing off a fantastic pair of shoes. A number of designers used this silhouette in their new collections, most notably Claire Pettibone in er fall 2012 bridal collection.

I’m not crazy about the idea of a front slit – that is, until I saw this dress from Angel Sanchez’s fall 2012 bridal line. It could definitely work on a very structured dress, especially if it has sleeves.

I love that there are more and more colored wedding dresses every season, with Vera Wang’s fall 2012 collection being the most daring of them all. This is the first time I’ve seen a mainstream designer do black wedding dresses, and do it without looking too goth or costumey.

Illusion necklines started appearing on the runway early this year, and now designers like Jenny Packham in her 2012 bridal collection have added onto this trend by embellishing the sheer fabric with rosettes and intricate beadwork.

It can’t be a fall/winter collection without cover-ups in the ensembles. This season, delicate capelets made of lace or tulle are the perfect accessory for strapless wedding dress.
