Hijab Wedding Gowns by Irna La Perle

Women outside the Muslin world might find the concept of hijab a little too restrictive. Hijab refers to both the veil Muslim women wear and their conservative style of dress. My style is far from conservative, and I enjoy keeping my arms and legs bare, especially in the summer heat. But when I saw these gorgeous hijab gowns by Indonesian designer Irna La Perle, I realized I wouldn’t mind dressing up modestly if my clothes looked this gorgeous.

Irna La Perle’s hijab wedding gowns are done in soft pastel colors and billowy chiffon. Aren’t they just as dreamy as Western wedding dresses?

I’m crazy about the powder blue color of the dress to the left. The embellished lace jacket is to die for too! The dress to the right is equally lovely – pink and gray is one of my favorite color combinations.

These dresses are from the collection featured at Jakarta Fashion Week. They’re trendier and less romantic than the gowns featured above.
