Claire Pettibone Spirit of the Night Collection

Of all Claire Pettibone’s wedding gowns, I think the ones from the Spirit of the Night collection are the most opulent and extravagant, with the usual touch of whimsy expected from her designs. The inspiration for this collection are the fairies from her childhood. Claire Pettibone remembers how she would spend hours playing in the meadows and streams near her home, creating dresses out of petals and leaves for the fairies she imagined lived in the woods. Much of the design ideas come from a an old picture book called The Fairy Circus, which was published in 1933 and handed down to her from her grandmother. The fairy queen of her favorite childhood tale was luminous and magical, just as a bride should be on her big day.

I wish I saw your site when I was about to get married. I love the first dress, it’s so lovely and whimsical and really like a fairy princess.
