Dyeable Wedding Shoes

Dyeable wedding shoes are a great alternative if you’re having difficult finding wedding shoes in a particular shade you like. The fabric of the dyeable wedding shoes usually comes in a shade of white that can be dyed to complement your wedding dress. The fabric is also already pre-shrunk, so you don’t need to worry about the shoe size changing once you’re done dyeing it. You can have your coutourier do the dyeing or save money and do it yourself.
The best way to go about dyeing your wedding shoes is to buy a shoe dye designed for that purpose. Take your time choosing the dye’s color because dyeing the shoes is a one-shit thing; the only other color you can change it to is black. To get the exact shade you want, hold the color chart beside your dress and compare them in the same light your wedding will be held at. For instance, if your wedding ceremony will be held in a garden, go under the sunlight to examine the dye colors and how it looks beside your wedding gown. If you’re holding your ceremony in a church, use indoor lighting when you compare colors.
Besides purchasing dye, you also need to get a good water repellent for them. The color on dye shoes tend to run when they get wet. Although a water repellent can’t completely keep this from happening, it will definitely protect the color better than if you didn’t have a repellent.
Make sure your wedding shoes are dry and clean before you begin the dyeing process. To protect your work surface, place a thick layer of old newspapers underneath your shoes. Then place crumpled up newspaper sheets or tissue inside the wedding shoes so they retain their shape. Follow the instructions that come with the dye for best results. Start at the back seam and apply the color in light, even coats. The more coats you put, the darker the final color will be. Once you’re satisfied with the shade, allow the shoes to dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
