Bridal Parasols: An Alternative to the Bouquet

Instead of carrying a bouquet, why not carry a pretty bridal prop and bring out your inner diva? Try a bridal parasol or umbrella for your garden or beach wedding. The parasols of old were made for the sun and aren’t waterproof, but parasols today are of different materials so you can find one to match your wedding theme. Are you having an Asian-themed wedding? Try a rice-paper parasol for zen-like simplicity or a silk brocade one to match your luxurious Asian wedding dress. Is your event a Victorian tea party? You must carry a frilly, ruffled parasol.

Here are some advantages to carrying a bridal parasol over any other bridal accessory:

1) They look fabulous in photos. Just think about how much character your wedding pictures will have when you pose with a parasol. And don’t think that the bride has all the fun. You can also have your wedding attendants carry parasols to unify the overall look, especially if they are wearing mismatched bridesmaids dresses.

2) They can protect you from the elements. As mentioned earlier, parasols are now made with waterproof materials. It’s a fashionable way to protect yourself from sudden, unexpected downpours.

3) Reusable. After the wedding, you can make the parasol a pretty decorative accent to your home, or reuse them for another outdoor event.

You may have to do a little bit of looking around to find a bridal parasol here, but I think Divisoria should carry them.
