Bridal Bouquet Styles
You’ve set the date, you’ve got your gorgeous wedding dress, and the right wedding shoes peeking from under your skirt. But your walk down the aisle won’t be complete without you carrying a bouquet. The right bridal bouquet complements the gown and the radiant beauty of any blissful bride. The general rule is that your wedding’s style and formality influences the size of your bouquet. Here are some of the most popular bridal bouquet styles.
The round style or the colonial bouquet is the most simple and most versatile of all bridal bouquets since it looks great in formal and informal weddings. Often, the round style is arranged as a cluster of flowers. The choice of flowers influences the bouquet’s formality; roses give a more formal and traditional look while daisies are more casual.
The nosegay is also a round-shaped style except it includes more greens and is placed in a Victorian-style flower holder made out of metal or glass.
The cascade is ideal for more formal weddings. Its sophisticated and elongated shape features an abundant number of flowers at the top of the bouquet and slowly tapers downward with foliage, ribbons, or streamers. You can either get a dense cascade with many flowers or a more loose arrangement for a wispy look.
Single-stem bouquets are technically not a bouquet but it has gained popularity as simplicity became a trend in weddings. To make a single-stem bouquet stand out, it usually has a unique design like elaborate bows or decorative lace.
The free-form bouquet contains flowers and greenery that shoot out at varying angles, with no specific form. Choose a free-form bouquet for beach or outdoor weddings since this arrangement can show off the beauty of tropical flowers with unique shapes.
