Korina Sanchez’s Pina Bridal Gown
Thursday, October 29th, 2009When I was younger, I used to want TV broadcaster Korina Sanchez to end up with her co-anchor Ted Failon. As it turns out, she married senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II last Tuesday at the Santo Domingo church. There’s a lot of talk about how this union was done more for show rather than love but hey, I don’t really know anything about that. I’m just here to report on what Korina wore to her wedding.

It seems like the couple opted for a Filipiniana motif for their wedding, probably because of Mar Roxas’s position as senator. Korina’s serpentina-style wedding dress was designed by Pepito Albert and made of hand-embroidered pina fabric, which was also created by the designer himself. The dress’s empire cut features a gently draping bust line and panels that gently flare out into a subtle mermaid tail. You can’t really tell from this photo, but the dress has features miniature flowers, curlicues, leaves, and vines traced in small flat sequins for discreet sparkle.
