Hello Kitty Wedding Cake

It’d probably be overkill to have a Hello Kitty-themed wedding with the iconic white cat decorating every inch of the room. I think what would really drive the message across, theme-wise, is to use Kitty as a centerpiece at the reception or as a decor on the wedding cake.

In fact, you can do away with the centerpiece as the wedding cake often reflects the theme or mood of the wedding. The way I see it, a Hello Kitty wedding cake can be made in two ways. You can get it custom-made using fondant, a firm icing used by most wedding cake designers in the industry for its clay-like texture. A skilled pair of hands should have no difficulty making a mold of Hello Kitty and her groom.

More Hello Kitty Wedding Dresses

Apparently, someone on Etsy was offering to make handmade replicas of the Hello Kitty wedding dress for brides who can’t get their hands on one all the way in Japan. It seems like she took her Etsy site down because I can’t find it anymore. Anyhow, I did some poking around the Internet and apparently, Sanrio has four more Hello Kitty wedding dress designs, though none of them are nearly as intricate as the pink one.

Hello Kitty Wedding Dress

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I outgrew Hello Kitty when I was seven years old but I guess some girls aren’t too old for this white Japanese cat by Sanrio. Japanese brides who have the money for kitsch can shell out $4,000 for a ruffly, pink wedding dress adorned with Hello Kitty’s face. And if that’s not enough for the hardcore fan, you can apparently get an entire Hello Kitty wedding done at the Daiichi Hanyu hotel chain in Japan. Wedding packages cost somewhere in between $8,717 – $22,275.

Sanrio’s not the only company to offer cartoon-themed weddings for the childlike bride. Last year, Disney launched a line of wedding gowns for women who want to look and feel like their favorite fairy tale princess on their wedding day. The most expensive Disney Princess wedding gown is a thousand bucks cheaper than the Hello Kitty wedding dress, and I guess that’s because the Disney gowns are a lot less poofy and busy-looking.

Edit: apparently, there are many Hello Kitty wedding dresses in different styles and colors! Plus, a Hello Kitty tux to dress your groom in.
