Vintage-Style Bridal Hair Accessories

I was randomly surfing the web when I came across an indie designer called New York Nat and her stunning collection of vintage-style bridal accessories. We’re all familiar with birdcage veils by now and how they best complement a vintage wedding dress, but New York Nat’s veils and accessories do the trick as well – if not better. There isn’t much information about pricing on the website but I suppose you can just take a cue from her designs and use these as inspiration for your own vintage wedding day look.

Sweet Jade is my favorite veil among the bunch. It’s perfect for simple civil weddings and garden weddings and makes you look like a bride even if you don’t want to be swathed in veils per se. Another thing I love about this veil is that it’s so versatile; the A-line shape of the tulle flatters both up-dos and half-ponytails, and you don’t have to necessarily wear it with a vintage-style tea-length dress. I can see this looking fabulous with a slightly modern column dress too.

Spring 2010 Hair Accessories

Hair accessories don’t always make or break the look but when it comes to weddings, they can speak volumes in terms of the image you’d like to put forward. Check out the hair trends for spring 2010 fresh from the runways, as well as our suggestions for more affordable alternatives.

This star-studded updo was spotted at the Carolina Herrera show. Lace sunburst, star diamond, and diamond starfish brooches by Tiffany & Co. adorn a simple updo. You don’t have to buy brooches from Tiffany to achieve the same effect; sparkly Swarovski hair clips will do just the trick.
