Enough with the fall 2010 trends for now – let’s talk about spring! Spring is my favorite season because designers make use of bright cheerful colors, breezy fabrics, and easygoing dresses. Next year’s brides have a lot of great trends to look forward to, such as nature-inspired wedding dresses and now pastel-colored wedding dresses. I first noticed this trend in Vera Wang’s spring 2010 bridal collection, but I thought the colored gowns were just expressions of her whimsy. Then I spotted pastel-colored gowns on Maggie Sottero’s spring 2010 collection as well. I love that designers are incorporating more color into their bridal collections, and that there are brides who are willing to go beyond tradition and wear something other than a white dress to their wedding.

On to Maggie Sottero’s collection!

Brides who want that Greek goddess look should get a wedding dress in this style. This lovely lavender silk dress has a jeweled empire bodice, low v-neckline, and a gorgeous cascading waist.

What a fun twist to the mermaid-style wedding dress! This slim, salmon-pink strapless dress is embellished with silver blossoms and finished off with a tulle train at the back, giving the illusion of a mermaid tail.

This sweetheart-neckline banded wedding dress comes in a refreshing pale yellow color. The fitted bodice and the full A-line skirt makes this dress the perfect compromise between runway trends and tradition.

This lovely beaded dress looks almost white, but it’s actually made of a pale pink fabric base. Probably my favorite dress in the bunch – I love the chiffon fabric, beaded embellishments, and the fitted bodice.

Would you wear a colored dress to your wedding?
