Custom Bridal Headpieces by Matthew & Melka

It’s amazing how a Filipino couple who had no formal training in fashion design was able to make it big in the local fashion industry with their high-end, designer headbands. But because they were the first to fill in the void of custom headpieces in the local scene, Matthew and Melka pretty much became an overnight success. Just recently, they launched their bi-annual collection of bridal headpieces, the second collection of which will be available on July 2009. Each piece is limited in quantity and can be modified upon your request.

The rest of the pieces from the bridal collection are way more subdued than this and a little too safe for my tastes. I actually like the headbands from the Flapper Collection the best, as the feathers, flowers, and detail really pop out when you wear a white wedding dress.

They even make cage veils!

The average price of each piece is about 900 – 1,200. A little pricey, but I think it’s worth splurging on if you’re wearing a simple wedding dress.
I think the only downside to Matthew and Melka is that each piece runs out too quickly (the ones I posted above are no longer available) and I’m not sure if they make them again. But you can subscribe to their Multiply to get updated on when they release a new collection.
