carrie bradshaw wedding dress

In the Sex and the City movie, sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw finally marries her Mr. Big…or does she? The wedding scene was filmed at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral last year and actress Sarah Jessica Parker walked down the aisle in an extravagant Vivienne Westwood strapless wedding gown. Some people love it, some people loathe it, but the bodice makes Parker’s skinny frame look more curvy and the lack of frills, ruffles, and sparkles kept the gown from going over the edge. In typical Carrie Bradshaw style, her full-length veil was adorned with a giant turquoise feather, which I think was a perfect finishing touch.

If you’re a New York-based, die-hard Sex and the City fan who’ll be swapping wedding vows in the very near future, you too can walk down the aisle wearing the exact same wedding dress! Well, maybe not the exact dress. Bridal gown designer Gabrielle Risatti of Gabriella New York will be making thirty reproductions of the Vivienne Westwood wedding gown for a limited time (hairpiece sold separately!). Interested brides-to-be can make appointments to have their measurements taken at the Risatti salon sometime this month. The schedule for fitting was supposed to have been today but Risatti postponed it for some reason, so I think you girls still have a chance! Visit Gabriella Risatti’s website for more information on Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding dress.
