I’m not one for awards shows, but the only reason why I tune into them is to check out who’s wearing what by whom. The Golden Globe Awards had a number of stunning ballgowns and evening dresses that I’d love to see in white! Check out my favorite gowns from the Golden Globe’s red carpet below.

I didn’t realize that Louis Vuitton made more than just their monogrammed bags. Zoe Saldana’s red ruffled dress was definitely an eye-catcher and a refreshing change from the silver dresses she’s been wearing to all the Avatar premieres. For a bride, I’d love to see this gown in varying shades of white, cream, and pale peach.

I love Sandra Bullock’s Bottega Veneta gown not only for the rich purple color, but also for the unusual sheer detail on the ballgown skirt. I can just imagine how stunning this would look like in white with hints of silver. Perfect for a bride who wants to show a little hint of skin without revealing too much. As far as I know, no one has made a version in white, but you can get a royal blue knockoff for only $250 at edressme.com.

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s salmon-colored Roland Mouret gown has severe architectural elements that would have looked stiff if not for the fact that they hug and accentuate her silhouette. For a modern bride who wants to stay away from layers of tulle and taffeta, this gown would look amazing in pearl white.

For skinny brides who want the illusion of extra poundage, try a flattering wall of ruffles like in Jennifer Morrison’s beige gown. This would be great for any setting, be it at the beach or ballroom.

Love love love Lea Michele’s (from Glee) Oscar dela Renta dress! What a gorgeous gown for someone who’s never walked the red carpet before.

The good news is that Lea Michele’s gown is available in white, from Oscar dela Renta’s Spring 2010 collection.

Last but certainly not the least is Lea Michele’s Glee co-star Dianna Agron in a stunning Reem Acra gown. I’m crazy about how the fabric just billows and moves. I may not be a celebrity but man, I’d kill to have a gown like this in my closet.
