Rachel McAdams’ Pink Wedding Dress in The Vow

Most movie brides wear a strapless white dress for their on-screen wedding, but Rachel McAdams’ character in The Vow chose to marry Channing Tatum in a short pink wedding dress and matching blush veil. The dress is actually a vintage piece customized by the movie’s costume designer, which makes it even more awesome. It’s such a spontaneous look that’s part rock-star, part Pretty in Pink, though I think the floral appliques on the skirt are a bit too much. It’s not a look that’s for everyone but unconventional brides who feel like channeling Molly Ringwald on their wedding day can wear these similar dresses from Monique Lhuillier, Alfred Angelo, and Alvina Valenta.

I love how each dress has the same girly, I-don’t-care-what-you-think feel of Rachel McAdams’ wedding dress without looking like you’re going to prom. Monique Lhuillier’s dress is a more subdued design with pastel chiffon and the bow at the waist, while Alfred Angelo’s dress has a similar bodice and neckline with the ruched design. But the dress by Alvina Valenta captures the silhouette of McAdams’ look with the white satin bodice and flouncy pink tulle skirt.
