Wedding dresses by celebrity couturier Monique Lhuillier is a big hit among the stars and any bride who can spend hundreds of dollars on a designer wedding dress. Now brides who have more cash to spare can dress their entire bridal party in Monique Lhuillier! The Filipina fashion designer has just launched a bridesmaids collection. As of now you can only avail of them at the Edina, Minnesota flagship store, but they will be available online later this year at her website, www.moniquelhuillier.com.

Monique Lhuillier’s bridesmaids dresses are cocktail-style and are available in vivid hues of green, yellow, pink, coral, silver, and navy. Each dress is in the $300 range but because they come in classic shapes and flattering figures, you can wear them to many events after the wedding.

Bridal Fashion in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Friday, May 1st, 2009

The romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is opening this week and is certainly not like a lot of romantic comedies out there. The story is about notorious bachelor Connor (Matthew McConaughey) and how he encounters the ghosts of three ex-girlfriends the day before his brother’s wedding. Costume designer Denise Wingate was in charge of picking out what everyone would wear to the movie, and her approach was very down-to-earth. Rather than having designers create custom dresses just for the film, she went around shopping like a real bride looking for great deals. The result is a mix of well known wedding dress designers like Amsale, and insider favorites Jenny Lee and Jenny Yoo.

The Vera Wang Maid to Order Collection

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Celebrity wedding dress designer Vera Wang just made it easier for brides and bridesmaids to pick out the perfect bridesmaids’ dress that suits their budget and taste. The Maids Collection is now available on verawangonweddings.com, and what makes it so convenient is that you can order the bridesmaids’ dress of your dreams with just several clicks! Simply select the dress style, the dress color, and size, and you’re good to go.

Dresses from the Maids Collection range from $180 to $250, is available in sizes 2-28, and will take eight weeks for delivery. I think this is the perfect idea for bridesmaids who don’t have time to physically go to a bridal salon and get fitted.
