Alice in Wonderland-Inspired Dresses from Luce Japan

alice inspired wedding dress

Despite being a children’s story, there’s something utterly romantic about Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. It’s so easy to create a themed wedding around this charming little girl and her adventures in the whimsical dream world of wonderland. Today, I came across a lovely collection of Alice-inspired Japanese wedding gowns from Luce Japan’s Alice in Luceland shoot, and I thought you might appreciate a look, what with Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland taking over the cinemas. Luce Japan’s wedding dresses are very dreamy, carefree, and romantic, which suits our storybook heroine quite perfectly!

Wedding Dresses with Pockets

wedding dress with pockets 4

Not all wedding dress trends have to be superfluous and decorative. Some of them serve practical purposes! My favorite wedding dress trend (and dress trend in general) is pockets. Pockets allow you to keep small items like a mirror, lipstick, tissue, maybe a pack of cigarettes if you smoke. They’re perfect for brides who have a habit of forgetting their purses because they’d like to keep their hands free – and you’ll be needing your hands throughout the reception. What I love most about pockets is that you can either make it a part of the dress design like in the photo above, or tuck it discreetly in between the pleats. Click on the cut to see the wedding dress styles that look great with pockets.

Old Hollywood Glam on the 2010 Catwalk

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Styles come and go, but if there’s a look that can withstand the fickle nature of designers and consumers, it’s old Hollywood glam. I don’t know what it is about the look of old Hollywood vixens that endures to this day. Maybe it’s their restrained sexuality? The quiet mystique? Their elegant sense of style? In any case, check out these old Hollywood-inspired wedding gowns fresh from the 2010 catwalks.

Spring 2010 Trend: Golds and Beiges

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Aside from pastel-colored wedding gowns, one other trend to watch out for in spring 2010 are wedding dresses in gold and beige tones. I spotted this trend in a few designers, but my favorite beige and gold wedding dresses have to be from Ines de Santo’s spring 2010 collection. Her ball gowns are so regal and elegant, I can picture European royalty wearing them to their own wedding. See for yourself!
