My newfound interest in makeup made me realize that I’ve been neglecting an important component of a bride’s wedding day look – her makeup! I’m no expert or anything at this point, but I thought I’d share with you some runway bridal makeup that I like, with tips courtesy of Bobbi Brown’s makeup manual.

This classic bridal look is clean and fresh – great for brides who don’t want to look too “made up”. Use a moisturizing foundation in your skin tone to even out your complexion, then dust a golden bronzer on your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin for that dewy look. Apply a coral blush onto the apples of your cheeks to make them pop, and finish with a shiny lip gloss in the same shade as your blush.

For the longest time, red lips and eyeliner was the only makeup I could do, but I can see how this works on a bride. The trick is to use matte eyeshadow in neutral colors and black liner so you don’t end up looking like a drag queen. Add some color to your cheeks with a sandy pink blush. Since red lipstick requires precise application, use a lip brush to apply the lipstick. Top it off with a clear lip gloss for shine.

White eye makeup is great if you want to look clean yet trendy. This look used a white shimmer shadow all over the lid and a black gel liner to line the upper lashline. A neutral pink was applied to the lips and cheeks for a natural flush.

Outdoor weddings and receptions call for a warm, sun-kissed look. For a flattering glow, use a shimmery highlighting powder on your cheekbones. On your eyes, apply a golden bronze shadow on the lower lids followed by a champagne gold shadow on the crease. Finish with a natural beige lipstick.
