winter wedding dress

What makes shopping for a winter wedding dress particularly challenging is that most wedding gown designers seem to have never heard of “winter” at all. But if you’ve found a dress that doesn’t seem temperature-appropriate, don’t worry - there’s still a way for you to wear it without having to freeze to death.

One of the things you can do is to wear a strapless or short-sleeved wedding dress and a white, faux-fur cloak over it. Keep your hair down and wear a glittering tiara on your head. To keep your hands warm, wear a matching white muff. You can also wear a stole or caplet instead of a coat, but it might hide more of your dress. If you opt to do this, make sure that the skirt of your dress is ornate while keeping the top simple.

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to stick to wearing white. In fact, underneath a white cloak, a burgundy wedding dress will look breathtakingly gorgeous. A pale blue dress also helps fulfill those winter wonderland bridal dreams.

As for your shoes, you could go ala-Cinderella and wear clear sandals or something more practical. Winter’s the perfect time to don those Victorian-style booties, something that brides getting married in warmer seasons won’t have the chance to do!
