Milla Jovovich’s Wedding

I’m amazed at the simplicity and the beauty of Milla Jovovich’s wedding. You’d expect a celebrity to have an expensive reception with the bells, whistles, and designer vendors but looking at her wedding photos, you’d think she was just a regular girl like the rest of us. Milla Jovovich married Resident Evil director Paul WS Anderson at the backyard of their Beverly Hills home last weekend. They had a small, intimate ceremony where they decided on their own rituals and recited vows that they wrote themselves. How sweet is that? If I ever get married, it will not be at a church where I get to recite vows I didn’t write for myself and which couples have been breaking since time immemorial. It’ll have to be something as personal and meaningful as this wedding.

Milla Jovovich recently launched her own clothing line, which probably explains why she decided do design her own wedding dress. It was supposed to be a short dress inspired by 60’s fashion but she eventually decided on a white column silk dress with an open back.

To complement the dress’s style, Milla wore her wavy hair down and adorned it with a thick gold headband.

Unlike most Hollywood couples, whose extravagant weddings are characterized by how much everything cost, the focus of the Jovovich-Anderson wedding was on themselves as a couple celebrating how happy they are to be together. It seems very sincere in its simplicity and I hope more weddings turn out to be like this.
