Thankfully, there’s no such rule that says wedding dresses have to be all white. This fall, bridal designers are going crazy over classic silhouettes with gold accents, and wedding dresses that shimmer and glitter. If you’re getting married over the next two months, a wedding dress with a touch of gold is right for the season. Here are several fall 2009 wedding dresses that follow the gold-embellished trend.

This strapless A-line gown by Alfred Angelo is made of taffeta and features a ruffle crumb catcher detail on the bust. You can’t see it from this angle, but the dress is also adorned with crystal beads, sequins, and rhinestones so that its lucky wearer may shine on the most important night of her life.

Designer Reem Acra embellished this poufy ballgown with ornate gold detail on the bust and skirt. The style name Princess and the Pea is definitely appropriate.

From Alvin Avalenta, an ivory silk duchess satin A-line gown with chatilly lace around the waist and a gold satin ribbon. The design is very minimalist, but it’s no less elegant or romantic.

This gorgeous confection is by no one other than Vera Wang. Made of hand-painted silk tissue organza, this strapless dress has a bias floral flanged overlay, horsehair bow around the waist, and a nude tulle draped skirt. It’s a wearable work of art, and it’s almost too pretty to be considered an actual wedding dress.

Last but not the least, this white chiffon halter dress from Edressme.Com costs only $200! It probably wasn’t made to be a wedding dress, but it would look gorgeous at an outdoor wedding just the same.
