You don’t have to dish out a lot of money in order to look like you just stepped out of a bridal magazine. The details that you see in couture bridal gowns can easily be recreated on a simple and more inexpensive wedding gown. The trick to to doing this is to get the simplest, white wedding gown you can find and embellish it with the trendiest accessories.

Start out with a simple, strapless white wedding dress. To copy today’s trend of ruching, broaches, and colored accents, add a wide satin sash in your favorite color, tie it in a knot, and place the broach on the knot. Get a pair of shoes to match the color of your sash. A matching satin bolero should complete your look if you want a little more coverage on top.

If you choose to wear a simple dress with minimal embellishments, wear bold, glittering accessories to add balance to your overall look. Think vintage chandelier earrings, a waterfall choker, or a sassy veil. These will give an elegant and sophisticated look to your gown no matter how simple it is.

For more informal weddings, consider wearing a short a lightweight white gown made out of a flowing fabric like chiffon. Add a satin ribbon around your waist in pastel colors and wear
