Although the sexy wedding gown trend has brides baring more flesh than traditionally accepted, there’s a movement towards modesty on the runway - and there’s nothing frumpy or boring about this new trend. Sleeves on wedding gowns are now in. From fragile lace embellishments off the tip of the shoulders to big, playful tulle puffs and organza bubbles, sleeves add glamor, whimsy, and old-fashioned Hollywood glamor to wedding gowns. Besides this, there’s also a practical side to putting sleeves on wedding gowns: they give style options to brides who are getting married in colder climes or who aren’t entirely confident about showing those bare arms.
To make your arms look smaller with the help of sleeves, make sure that they don’t cling tightly to your arm as this achieves the opposite effect. Go for billowy or delicate fabric such as lace or tulle. Three-fourths sleeves should be made out of sheer or transparent fabric for a romantic, whimsical look; otherwise, you’re going to resemble a nun on your wedding day and I’m sure that’s not quite the effect you’re going for.
